Ingredients

  • 8 slices of rye bread
  • 250 grams mushrooms, sliced
  • 150 grams fresh pineapple, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 200 grams cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing
  • Lemon juice for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced mushrooms until they are golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with fresh dill, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of rye bread.
  4. Top each slice of bread with sautéed mushrooms, diced pineapple, and slices of bell peppers.
  5. Drizzle with a little lemon juice and garnish with additional dill if desired.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your festive Smørrebrød!
