Ingredients

  • 200 g whole wheat flour
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 150 ml water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional for slight sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional for flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and caraway seeds.
  2. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter and water gradually while mixing.
  3. Knead the dough until it is smooth, adding more water or flour as necessary to achieve a soft but not sticky consistency.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a flat circle about 5 mm thick.
  5. Preheat a non-stick frying pan or griddle over medium heat.
  6. Cook each bread disc for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the pan and let cool on a wire rack.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature with butter, cheese, or your favorite spread.
